External Events - Don't Let Them Hold You

Don’t let external events affect your joy..
Meaning, don’t let a bad day at work ruin the wonderful time you have with your family at home..
Or vice-a-versa!!

We tend to let our everyday events affect our internal joy, which in turn affects our eternal happiness!!
Think about it…………

Okay, stop thinking.. Your thinking to hard.. It’s simple..
Remember the breath of life that HE gave you today and your loved ones that surround you!!
Now if that is not something to be joyful about everyday, then I don’t know what is!!

Life is to short to drown in sorrow, but life is also inevitable without sorrow..
Life is like two train tracks.. One joy and the other sorrow..
You can’t ride one without riding the other, but you have to coast them both out together..
Make the choice not to drown.. Let HIM carry you!!

Remember.. HE’s got your back.. Always!!
May God Bless You All J

Support, and the Gods Honest Truth (Partners Edition)

We all have different kinds of partners throughout our lives...
Romantic, work, church, friendship, family, parent/child...

Okay.. Okay..
You may not look at the last one as a partnership, but I do!!

Let me elaborate...

Out of all these different kinds of partnerships what do you hope to gain out of one or more? I speak for myself when I say, my prays are that I will build relationships with my surrounding partners in hopes of...
Mutual support and the gods honest truth...
I had one of those great moments today with a friend!!
HE placed her in my life to show me how much HE loves me,
and HE has done the same for you...
You just have to open your eyes/ears and focus!!
HE is our parent and we are HIS children...
We have a partnership with HIM...
HE is always there to support us,
but HE is also always there to tell us the gods honest truth...
And HE has placed special people in lives to deliver HIS little messages!!
May God Bless You All ;)

Email I received today... So I wanted to share

WHAT IF THERE ISN'T ANYMORE
One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning,
in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore".
No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together,
no more phone calls just to chat,
  no more "just one minute."

Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes
away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."
So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it,
fix it when it's broken, and heal it when it's sick.

This is true for marriage...
And old cars...
And children with bad report cards…
And dogs with bad hips…
And aging parents and grandparents.
We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

   Some things we keep…
Like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce.
There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special…
And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a “keeper”!
Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way...
Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way.
Suppose one morning you never wake up,
do all your friends know you love them?

Let every one of your friends know you love them.
Even if you think they don't love you back.
And just in case I'm gone tomorrow:
  I LOVE YA!!!

Live today because tomorrow is not promised!!!

Precious Moments - Remember

I have to tell you all a funny story.. Well, I think it’s pretty darn funny and cute!!
My 3 year old son has long hair…
He knows when mama says “shower time” that that means his hair is getting washed/combed.
Well, this past Monday was shower time!!
He cried, and cried, and cried…
I told him all that was not necessary because he was getting his hair washed…
He still proceeded to cry, even while in the shower.
After we were all done, and he had his pj’s on…
He stood in between my legs, wrapped his little arms around my neck
and in the most pitiful voice ever said,
“I LOVE YOU MOMMY”!!
I chuckled within and responded, “Mommy loves you too”!!
At that moment, I didn’t let go of him…
I simple enjoyed that moment with his little arms wrapped around me,
and his sweet little voice echoing in my head.
The world stood still for what felt like forever, and I THANKED HIM for that precious moment J
Today’s assignment: Think of a precious moment you had with someone that is/was special to you…
After that thought make sure you thank HIM for those special memories!!

May God Bless You All J

Your Heart Is Delicate

Proverbs 4:23

Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.

The heart can sometimes be a touchy subject..
We all at one time or another have had someone treat us poorly,
but what we do with that afterwards is on us.
If we, dwell in the sorrow that the individual has brought us then our heart seems to ache…
If we, give it all to HIM then our heart seems to still be dancing… And dancing!!
Treat your heart just like you would treat a newborn…
Don’t let anything harmful impact it or destroy it…
“For from it flow the springs of LIFE!!”

Prioritizes

Luke 10:41-42

41 But the Lord answered and said to her,
“Martha, Martha,
you are worried and bothered about so many things;
42 but only one thing is necessary,
for Mary has chosen the good part,
which shall not be taken away from her.”

Where are you at?
What means the world to you?
What will you break your neck for?
I have been one of those people that has to make sure everything is in place…
On top of that, I am a people pleaser.
I want to make everyone happy…
But, sometimes that just isn’t important.
We sometimes forget who is the most important…
Take a wild guess on who I’m referring to!!
HA.. You guessed it.. HIM!!
Let’s practice on putting HIM 1st, and remembering HIS great power/presence!!
May God Bless You All J

FYI

When you receive new information on something, where does that lead you?
Does it lead you to search for more information to support what you just read or found out?
Or does it leave you just stuck on that one thing?
With a question, there is typically always an answer that follows…
And with that answer, is another question, and then another answer…
So…
Why would one think, “this is it”
Why would one think that HE is limited…
Why would one think that HE would limit us, HIS children...
Why would HE do that to us?
Guess what?
HE wouldn’t do that… HE doesn’t do that!!
HE wants us (HIS children) to be knowledgeable on everything HE created!!
HE is most powerful, and HE handles all…
HE keeps an open heart/mind when it comes to us,
so why should we not do the same when it comes to HIS information.
This is a special message.. For Your Information!!

The Gitf of Faith

Faith is not provided to us from any book..
Faith is a gift that was provided to us when we were created, before we were even conceived..
When a newborn is born it is placed on the mother’s chest, and they have the natural instinct to pull/suck.
Where does this natural instinct come from?
How does a infant know to do this?
Why do they continue to pull/suck when there is nothing coming?
Because they have been given the gift of faith.. It’s faith that gets them through.. It’s faith that gives them hope!!
They have faith that if they keep on trying then something will manifest.
The universe is HIS chest.. Let that marinate!!

Fight To Build Your Strength

Psalm 144:1
Praise the LORD, who is my rock.
He trains my hands for war
and gives my fingers skill for battle.

1 John 4:4
But you belong to God, my dear children.
You have already won a victory over those people,
because the Spirit who lives in you is greater
than the spirit who lives in the world.

When we pray to ask HIM to provide us with the strength to get through..
Do we really know what we are praying for?
We are praying for HIM to place us into another fight.
HE places us in specific trials to strengthen us.. We have to build our muscles..
HE doesn’t just give us the power/strength, and we haven’t put in any work..
Even though the battle is already won.. We still have to fight, and show HIM we are strong warriors.
If we can’t handle these practice battles HE is throwing at us, then how are we going to hold up in the
REAL BATTLE!!
Will you fight for yourself today?

Lonely... Seek HIM

Psalm 68: 5-6

5 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
6 God makes a home for the lonely;
He leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

When we find ourselves lost or left for dead by the outside world..
We tend to feel alone, and maybe at times scared.
Wait, Stop, Hold the press….
Who is the most important being.. Who is the one that stated HE is our everything..
Who can fill HIS presence.. Who can fill HIS shoes..
Who else can provide everything you need.. Who else knows your true future?

I don’t know of anybody or anything that can compare to HIS fullness..
Never have the fear of feeling lonely, for HE is always there!!

Teaching Our Children

I am extremely sorry to you all for my absence.. I want you all to know that you all are an extension to my spiritual family.. I did promise a few people that I would send a message out yesterday, but I was sick in the bed.. But I’m back.. LOL!! I also would like to welcome a new member.. Ms. Jenny, welcome to HIS WORD expressed thru me.. Enjoy!!

Deuteronomy 4:10
Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb,
when the LORD said to me, ‘Assemble the people to Me,
that I may let them hear My words so they may learn to fear
Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

Fear only HIM.. Fear only HIM.. I find myself saying this to my 9 year old son over and over again..
Fear only HIM.
But, how do we implement this when they already have formed in their little minds to be scared of certain things..
The dark, monsters, creepy crawlers, etc, etc..
How do we implement fearing only HIM when society places fear in us.
How?
If I haven’t placed any encouragement into you all please listen to this….
Never give up..
Keep trying..
Keep reading the WORD to them..
Keep telling them how much you love them, and how much HE loves them..
Keep telling them that they are important..
Keep telling them that they can do anything they put their mind to positively..
Keep telling them..
Keep telling them..
And keep telling them to fear only HIM!!
Never give up on our children!!
May God Bless You All J

Make That Call...

Matthew 14:28-32

28 Peter said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."

29 And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat,

and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened and beginning to sink he cried out,

"Lord, save me!"

31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him,

"You of little faith, why did you doubt?"

32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped.

You of little faith.. You of little faith.
I was one with little faith once upon a time, but HE brought me through that.
HE supplied me with contentment and satisfaction.
Now make sure you don’t hear me wrong..
I’m not content and satisfied with stopping where I’m at right now..
But I am happy and joyful with the contentment and satisfaction in my heart,
for I have HIS hands wrapped around me.

What about you?
Do you find yourself getting so upset about things that have no importance?
Do you find yourself shutting down a friend/family member
because you received a wrong interpretation?
Do you find yourself doubting HIM
because HE hasn’t helped you in your timely fashion?

Remember this my friends, HE has plans for you and HE has the times stamped!!
HE places events in your life to strengthen your heart,
and HE places people in our lives to help us along the way!
Trust in HIM J

Importance of Family

I just want to talk to you all today, no verse, just talk.
Family.. Family is not just your blood relatives.. Matter of fact sometimes our blood relatives are not even family. Your best friend could be family, your coworker(s) could be family, your neighbor could be family.
What entitles an individual to be called your family?
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!
The kind of love that doesn’t judge, the kind of love that doesn’t ridicule, the kind of love that just cares..
The kind of love that HE gives!!
I believe that HE equips us all with the appropriate tools at the appropriate times.. I believe HE drops the power of grace onto specific family member(s), our living angels here on earth, when we start to veer off HIS path.
I vow to continue my path towards HIM because of people like you,
and because of HIS love wrapped around us all.
I love my family!!
May God Bless You All J

Do the right thing...

James 4 : 2 - 3
2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder.
You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel.
You do not have because you do not ask.
3You ask and do not receive,
because you ask with wrong motives,
so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Doing the right thing can be hard at times.. Living right through HIM can be hard at times..

But where do we draw the line.. When do we give it all to HIM, and when we don’t get our way when do we let it be..

Only HIS plan shall prevail.. Nothing we do to go against that will change things..

In result, we will end up with worse outcomes or something catastrophic happening in your life.

Give it all to HIM.. May God Bless You All J

Speak...

1 Peter 3 : 9-11
9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead;
for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
10 For, “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS,
MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.
11 “HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD;
HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.

Watching what we speak, good or bad, has a reflection in our daily living.. As well as the way we speak.
You could say something positive, but if your tone is negative then your message comes off as negative.
The way we speak is just as important as what we speak.
I know you all have heard the saying,
“If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”
or
“Kill them with kindness”
The saying “kill them with kindness” can still coincide with the way you say it..
Speaking kindness in a sarcastic tone is still negative, people.. LOL!!
Try this on for size:
Throughout your day speak nothing but positive attributes..
When you feel the urge to speak of something that is not in HIS nature,
stop yourself and thank HIM for your new found self awareness of positive speaking/thinking!!
At the end of your day, reflect on how your speaking of good changed your day and outlook on life.
I would love to hear some feedback!!
May God Bless You All J

Find Joy...

Proverbs 17 : 22
A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Finding joy in stressful situations.. It’s hard, but it can be done.
I’m going to touch a bit on the ones that have left this temporary place setting, to go HOME.
Losing someone is never easy; whether that lost is the physical presence, or the mind of an individual.. In these past two weeks, I have lost one friends physical presence, for he was called HOME.. Two individuals that I know of have gone HOME, and I lost another friend to the streets..
When baby Tripp passed away on Jan. 14th, I kept thinking of all the great memories that his mother, Courtney, must have and all the joy that she has absorbed from those days.. When my friend, Phil, passed away last Friday I had some of the same thoughts; I can only imagine the stories that his wife, children, siblings, and grandchildren will remember.. My friend Teresa; losing anyone is hard, but I can only imagine the pain/hurt when it is your parent; remember those precious/joyful moments Teresa.. And last but certainly not least, my long lost friend Lindsay; I lost her years ago to the streets, and I continue to pray that she will see the light.
I will always remember the joyful days I had with Phil and Lindsay..
I continue to pray that I will not question HIS will, and keep joy in my heart.
HE is the best medicine out on the market!! May God Bless You All J

Loving the one's you don't care for.....

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, and do good,
and lend, expecting nothing in return;
and your reward will be great,
and you will be sons of the Most High;
for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

Your mama always told you to treat people the way you want to be treated,
but what happens when those people don’t treat you in a kind manner..
Do you act as they do?
NO NO.. We love them just the same!!
“But Lynette, why would I love someone that doesn’t treat me kindly”, you ask.
Because.. HE doesn’t turn away from you,
or treat you any different when you sin against HIM..
HE continues to love you..
HE continues to bless you..
HE continues to have your back.
Love is not an emotion, it is a choice.. Let’s choose to act as HE does.
Love is an act of HIS will.. May God Bless You All J

Prayer

1 Kings 8:49
then hear their prayer
and their supplication
in heaven Your dwelling place,
and maintain their cause,

What do you indulge in?
When you pray do you find yourself easily distracted?
Your prayer might go something like this:
“Dear Lord, umm please watch over me and my family.. (Self talk) Ohh, I have to remember to call them today.. Oh yeah Lord, and would you protect me with Your covering, Amen”.
When you watch a ball game, or your fave show are you easily distracted at that time?
My guess is probably no!!
Why do we do this?
Our minds never seem to slow down.. The wheels just keep turning.. When in prayer, let your wheels turn towards HIM and stay focused on HIM. One more thing.. Even though your prayer(s) are not answered right then and there, thank HIM at the same time your asking. And one last piece of advice.. HE is more pleased when we pray for others.. Let’s not be selfish!! May God Bless You All J

Follow Through

Acts 20 : 24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me;
my only aim is to finish the race and complete the
task the Lord Jesus has given me—
the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

It always seems whenever the new year comes along, some people make the same resolution every year.. “Ohh, I’m going to lose this weight this year; I’m going to join the gym; I’m going to focus more on my family; I’m going to go back to school.. I’m going, I’m going, I’m going.” Stop going the motions and follow through.. Finish!!
I have to say, I’m one of these people.. I come up with some grand plan, and then never follow through. Why do we do this? I can only speak for myself, but if you find yourself in this same boat ask yourself “WHY”.
HE placed us all here with a purpose/calling for our life.. Follow through.. There are a lot of people that start this life changing journey with HIM, but there are just as many that don’t finish that journey. Be one of those people to FINISH HIS WORK that was set forth for you!!

When your time comes will you be able to say to HIM..
I have brought You glory on earth by finishing the work You gave me to do. -John 17 : 4

Insults, Love, and Peace....

1 Peter 2 : 23 - 24

23 When they hurled their insults at him,
he did not retaliate; when he suffered,
he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted
himself to him who judges justly.
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross,
so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness;
“by his wounds you have been healed.”

Insults and criticism can hurt tremendously, but because of who HE is all can be healed.. My focus is on a God fearing family today, and their strength. This family has been going thru a life changing event since 2009, but through all their turmoil they have kept their FAITH and TRUST in HIM.

1 Corinthians 13 : 4 - 7

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

A mother’s love is strong!! When their story was published on ABCnews.com back in December 2011 the family was bombarded by insults and criticism.. Individuals telling her to take her son out of his misery.. This mother’s faith is strong, and willing to follow HIS plan. HE will call Mr. Tripp HOME when it’s time.

Numbers 6 : 25 – 26
25 the LORD make his face shine on you
   and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you
   and give you peace.”

Grant them PEACE!! Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers J

Branches & Vines

John 15 : 4 -5
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches.
If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.

As the storm comes over Louisville today people are beginning to create a frenzy.. But this day was unfolded before it even came about, as was your own. Have you ever stop to reflect on your day after it has come to a end.. Have you asked, “what can I do differently to make my future days go smoothly”? Let me let you in on a little secret, but shhh, you can’t tell anybody.. We are the branches, and HE is the vine.. Okay let me back up.. Think of your veins as the vine, and your body as the branch.. Without your veins (vines) pumping your blood, your body (branch) wouldn’t live.. So without HIM (The VINE) we (The branches) can not function properly.
Food for thought.. May God Bless You All J
